at Leeds University in 1986. His special interests are minor surgery, asthma,
maternity care and child health.
Dr.
Carl Foster MBChB,
MRCGP, DipObs
Qualified
at Manchester University in 1985. His special interests are maternity care, heart
disease prevention, child health and minor surgery.
Dr. Bernard Short LRCP, MRCS, LMCC (Canada)
Qualified at Leeds University in 1973. He spent 17 years working in Canada as a flight surgeon with the Canadian Armed Forces and as a GP in British Columbia before returning to work in the United Kingdom. His special interests are maternity care, diabetes, asthma and minor surgery.

Susan Nelson MBChB, MRCGP, DFFP
Qualified at Leeds University in 1991. Her special interests are minor surgery, asthma and family planning.
Dr.
Caroline Gilchrist MBChB
Qualified
at Dundee University in 1978. Her special interests are maternity and children's
care, family planning, preventative medicine and occupational health.

Eleanor Moran MB BAO BCh (NUI) MRCP DRCOG MRCGP
Qualified
at Cork University, Ireland 1996. Her special interests are asthma and cardiology.
Dr. Craig Skeet BSc (Hons) MB ChB
Qualified in Leeds in 1996. His special interests are antenatal care, gynaecological problems, family planning, sexual health and minor surgery.

TRAINING
PRACTICE
We are a training practice which
means we regularly have GP Registrars and hospital doctors working within the surgery. You will be
notified of this if your appointment is made with one of these.
THE
SURGERY STAFF
PRACTICE MANAGER
- MRS SANDRA KAYE
Mrs Kaye joined the practice in 1996
as practice manager. She previously worked at Leeds FHSA and has worked in the
NHS for several years prior to this. She is responsible for the day to day running
of the surgery and will be happy to assist you with any non medical queries you
may have about your health care.
PRACTICE NURSES
Our practice nurses are available by appointment for asthma and diabetes checks, cervical smears, blood pressure checks, dietary advice, stitch removal, blood and urine tests, ear syringing, wound dressings, vaccinations, travel advice and vaccinations and any general advice you may require about a healthy lifestyle. We also have a fully trained health care assistant.
RECEPTIONISTS AND
SECRETARIES
The practice employs six receptionists
and three secretaries to deal with your enquiries and requests as efficiently
as possible whilst respecting your confidentiality.

TO THE SURGERY
HEALTH VISITORS
The health visitor is a specially trained nurse with midwifery expertise who offers advice in childcare, child health and parenting skills. She monitors child development along with the doctors.
THE DISTRICT NURSES
The primary role of the district
nurse is continuity of nursing care in the community for patients in their homes.
THE MIDWIFE
The midwife is trained in the care
of pregnant women, before, during and after the birth of the baby. She holds a
weekly clinic in the surgery and also visits patients at home.
